I've been putting together an admittedly pretty badass seminar for summer semester called Killjoy Feminisms where we chart the history of American feminist movements through manifestos and digital archives. I am very excited to read these manifestos in more depth, many of which I've only really skimmed. But thinking about these different forms and styles and political messages got me thinking about what manifestos I would write. So I present my mostly cheeky running list of manifestos I should write:
- unfashionable: a homely bitch manifesto
- on being a hermit and other vaguely witchy things
- why feminist liberation shouldn't be (only) about sex, or why Poor Things sort of missed the point
- a statement against my brilliant friends' mediocre man-child boyfriends (because I really shouldn't have this many examples)
- fight the patriarchy by being weird
